Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute the onion and garlic in the olive oil until onion is tender and garlic is lightly browned. The key to a successful mushroom risotto lies in the slow and gentle cooking process, which allows the rice to release its starch and create the signature creamy texture. The mushrooms are sautéed until they are golden brown and then added to the rice along with flavorful ingredients such as garlic, onions, and white wine. The dish is then finished with a generous amount of Parmesan cheese, which adds a salty and nutty flavor to the overall dish. Mushroom risotto is a versatile dish that can be served as a main course or as a side dish to accompany a variety of meats or seafood. Its luxurious and comforting qualities make it a popular choice for both casual weeknight dinners and special occasions.
