1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour, divided
¼ cup confectioners' sugar, plus more for dusting
½ cup unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup chopped mixed nuts
2 large eggs, beaten
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon lemon extract
¼ teaspoon salt

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
